I think Carrara uses one of the cross-shaped HDRI formats (6-cam cubic mapping?
), and
not the panoramic HDRI that a spherical camera makes.... I could be super-wrong
on this
one. I've come across HDRI that Carrara refused to acknowledge but I never
tried to open
them in another app or HDRI-converter. I had assumed HDRIs would work similarly
to
QTVR in that whatever method you used to make them you would have some sort of
interchange-tool to convert panos to cubes and back again....

I'm really in over my head here so I shut up now. ;^)
