Compiling Plugins sans CodeWarrior

Compiling Plugins sans CodeWarrior

I've was hoping to take a stab at learning how to code plug-ins for Carrara.

I've been an engineer/programmer for umpteen years and have mastered many
languages
and many development environments, so how hard should this be?

I downloaded the SDK and started reading through the documentaiton/examples.

I was dumbfounded by the fact that the only instructions for how to compile on
OS X
assume that you have CodeWarrior and only provide info for this compiler---even
so far
as to including CodeWarrior plugins "required" to do part of the work.

Surely, there is a way to use XCode or gcc (and Rez) to create Carrara plugins.

Anybody have any pointers they could pass my way?

Thanks
mike
