She might have better luck with MP3 as it is more universal and you can
adjust the compression to make the files smaller. Besides the tools are
free.
You can use the free and excellent LAME encoder
http://lame.sourceforge.net/with the free and excellent Audacity sound
editor http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ (all open source and free).
Alternatively you could just use LAME with any of the many free front
ends for it, my favourite being RazorLAME

Audacity also supports OggVorbis
