For the one trying to stick to a spherical earth there are
some texture, bump, and specularity maps here:

I downloaded them originally from a site that I do not remember
the url of any more. They are ok to use freely for private use
and may not be redistributed commercially.
As they ar far too big for tS, I divided them into 8 parts,
so the only problem left is to map them onto a sphere.
The method I used was to split a sphere in 8 parts, then
the default mapping worked, but the edges of the parts got
visible.
