Shaders Plus update, new Lighting Model! 2005-04-06 - By Eric Winemiller
Back
Hi folks,
We've just posted an update to Shaders Plus that includes a few changes.
The first is a new Lighting Model inspired by Holly Daggers' request yesterday for a way to tone down GI lighting from glow. The new lighting model called GI Brightness, lets you adjust how much the glow from your shader cast light in the GI render, without changing how the object itself is rendered. This lets you tone down glowing objects that emit too much light and brighten objects without using the Value 0-10000% shader in your glow channel which tends to push the rendered object to white. As a new twist, this Lighting Model is stackable. It's effect can be stacked on top of the other Shaders Plus lighting models like Shadow Glow, Anisotropic, or Toon! Pro's cel shader.
The second change is that Mask is now also stackable so it can be used with Shaders Plus lighting models and Toon! Pro's cel.
Finally, there's a fix to the Anisotropic shader where it was giving some incorrect results.
The update is free to existing Shaders Plus customers. You can download the update or try out Shader Plus from the following links.
