'nuther shader plugin request - pls stop emitting light in GI 2005-04-05 - By Eric Winemiller

Holly,
Have you tried the Flat lighting model? Instead of placing your animation in the glow channel, use the color channel and the Shaders Plus Flat lighting model.
Here's a sample. The flame on the left uses the Flat method, the right uses the traditional glow which of course casts GI light.

To make a shader not accept GI light, use the Selective Lighting lighting model, set it to Exclude (with nothing to exclude) and turn off GI lighting.
