Just like with the other terrain layers (snow, rock, land...) you can
find one in the list that's a general type, and includes elevation
control. You can use that to have yet another layer/color towards the
bottom. Don't stick with just a simple color, make it a multichannel
with bumps for gravel and rocks, color changes or ebenm a texturemap
for wooden debris etc. The sky (or ground) is the limit...
