Character animation in C4 can be rather complex, but it is possible.
You may want the additional features in C4 Pro.  Upgrading from C4 to
C4 Pro is very expensive if you ever decide to go that way.

1) good.  2) very fast, and they've not only put out patches that fix
the bugs, but patches that add some new features.

Not that I can see from a strictly user viewpoint.  It has shifted in
focus, though, which is to be expected.

I think that Carrara's strong points have been the rendering and the
shaders.  I do need to add a third, and that's the wealth of plugins
available *and* at reasonable prices.
