I gave up on the Yahoo Groups Poser group some time ago for that reason. I think most of it has moved to other forums (DAZ, Renderosity, RuntimeDNA...)

In Poser, a morph is much like a morph in Carrara 4: a set of changes to the position of vertices in a model. To create a morph, you can acutally deform the model in Poser using magnets or other morphs and then "convert to morph". To make morphs in other programs, you have to export the model information as an OBJ file and then import it into Carrara or Amapi or whatever, do not delete or add vertices, you can only move them and do not move or rescale the whole model (without rescaling it back anyway--Amapi can do this automatically) Save the modified OBJ out and then in Poser, open your figure and import the modified OBJ as a morph. It then shows up as a dial on the figure properties panel.

Given all the clothes that everyone else has made, the easiest thing to do is to buy some from DAZ or RuntimeDNA or at Renderosity and so on.
Clothes come in two varieties: conforming (poser 3 and up) and dynamic (poser 5 and up). Conforming is the most common and requires some skill to create as it must be setup like any other figure. Dynamic clothing is simpler to make as all the wrinkles and folds are created within poser but it can be a pain to setup and takes time to calculate the dynamics.

Poser can import a variety of 3D formats. I made my Rocket Flier in Amapi 5 and 7 and Carrara 3, created the UV map with UVMapper Pro (could have done it in CS4) and created the textures in Corel Photopaint and PMView. So, really any app can be used to make poser figures and props.

There are a variety of tutorials at DAZ and PhilC Designs. PoserArcana was absorbed by DAZ. There even a couple of pooks like the Poser 4 Pro Pack and Poser Character Creation. --
