Thank you. Tina
-- ---- ------ Original message -- ---- ------ I only used .wav and rendered to QuickTime...had problems...wrote to Eovia....Eovia knows sound is not bug free...use with caution... Good to use Carrara to place initial sound to check out start/stop/timing/length/etc. concepts.
Eovia recommended having sound file start at frame 1, but that would not work for me as I had many sound bytes/bites to match scene at different times and I also needed two track sounds for different sounds overlapping at same time. C4pro always dropped the second sound track and when imported into Premiere 6 scrambled the timing of track 1.
So I rendered Carrara without sound and in pieces/clips and then put them together in Premiere and added sounds in multiple tracks with precision control for timing.
Finalize sounds in an audio program if needed to cut/stretch/adjust, then combine Carrara video (no sound) with final sound tracks. Sound adjust/effects available in Premiere or other 3rd party video/sound tools that you can't do in Carrara.
Suggest you report any sound file problems to Eovia as bug report so they can fix.

Thanks for the info. I am having a problem with my sound. I've done sound before but for some reason after I render to Quicktime and save my sound is not coming though. I used a aif file one time and a wav file the other, but they both have the same results. I added the sound then pulled it over to the sequencer and adjusted it. Do you have any idea what I am doing wrong. Thanks. Tina -- ---- ------ Original message -- ---- ------ I just finished an animation and found that between getting multiple sounds (especially if you use more than one track or if it does not start at frame 1) it is much easier to use a 3rd party tool to combine Carrara rendered movies...allows for much more flexibility and you can do Carrara renders in pieces; especially good for longer renders as you risk losing hours of rendering with a file error near the end (happened to me once after 14 hours of rendering).
You can make blended A-B transparency transitions to smooth any otherwise abrupt image changes.
