Subject: [Carrara] Architectural Work in Carrara

Someone on the list said recently they were building a
house in Carrara so I thought I'd share a recent project
of mine.

This home was modeled from scratch in the vertex
modeler using vector art I created from 4 eleveation
views in Macromedia FreeHand.

The entire home with the exception of the coach
lamps are one vertex object which was shaded
with shader domains. While this approach is rather
complex, I like to work in this way because I can model
parts while seeing all of the other parts and how they interact. The
terrain is also part of that vertex object and probably took the most
time to do because of some of Carrara's limitations.

The interior of the home isn't done. The client may ask
me to do that in the future and it won't be that difficult.
I just didn't have time to do it now.

The trees are using Carrara's tree model and I probably
could have done a better job of them. Their scale isn't correct, but I
didn't have the patience to tweak them anymore than I did because I work
on a very slow
machine, a Mac OS 9  G4/450.

Here's the image:
