Since you're mentioning After Effects, are you on Windows?
If so, I'll see if Dogwaffle can do this: Take a 20 second anim that's not looping, and use the Ghost filter in the Timeline editor to blend ofer half of the frames or a decent number of them anyway to create a fading between the end and the start of the anim so as to not see the transition.
