Nice idea, but badly flawed.
If I was Barney, I'd get up at 6am, take a look at the challenge, work on it
for 13 hours, then post my entry at 7pm claiming I only saw the challenge at
6pm and had only spent an hour on it. You have no way of proving if I am
telling the truth or not and enforcing the rules fairly to all
The original idea of holding different challenges at different times to
cover the major timezones makes much more sense than this. It's supposed to
be fun after all.

if you post the challenge on the forms every one can spend a hour on
the challenge.
if Gomer see the post at 6am and Barney see the post at 6pm they
both can spend a practical time hour on the challenge.Gomer and Barney do
not have to do the challenge in the same hour,that way.
you could post the challenge on 08-19-2004.
if there busy on the 19or didn't see the post till the 20th.
they could do the challenge on the 20,21.
they have challenges on several forms http://www.cgtalk.com/ has
several challenges.
