Interesting thread that has prompted a rather bizarre idea.

How about a "modeling relay"

This is how it works.

1) The relay race will only last 24 hours.

2) The race is conducted in three 1-hour segments (presumably at 8 hour
increments).

3) Whoever can work on the project in the first 1-hour segment starts the
race (most likely because they are in a time zone that is conducive to
working at home during that first hour).

4) This person has one-hour to get as far with the modelling as they can.

5) At the end of the hour, he submits his/her scene it back to the judges
along with a rendering of the WIP

6) The next race start time is scheduled.  60 minutes before the race, a
rendering of the WIP is posted.  The modellers names are NOT posted with the
WIP rendering.

7) 15 minutes before the race, the second relay racer must select which WIP
they will continue working on.  This will be done on a
first-come-first-served basis.  Only one person can select each WIP.

8) The second and third leg of the relay race continues which is pretty much
a repeat of steps 4 to 7.

9) At the conclusion, all work is judged.  All three entrants share in the
bragging rights of being the winner.

What makes this neat is that everyone from around the world can participate
in the same event.  Also, without lack of any coordination amongst the
racers (as they are all undefined at the start of the race), the end results
should be pretty interesting.

Just a bizarre thought.

Thanks,
Dave Angelini

P.S.  I also have good starting theme: Implements of Bat Torture. ;-)
