Great thread....interesting reading as I was also thinking of picking up XSI
Foundation....but here is an interesting excerpt from the thread:

"I'm coming from a gaming background, where bugs get fixed, because... well,
you paid for a version that was advertised to work.  Now, don't get me
wrong- I don't expect bug-free programs.  Not by any means.  But, when
people know of bugs, and something has already been done to fix them, the
idea of paying for an upgrade just to see them implimented is lame.  I like
XSI a lot, and it looks like the right program for me to use, but even
Caligari can patch Truespace (a program that is frowned upon by many pro
guys) and fix their basic bugs for every user, from highest to lowest.

Maybe someone should tell Softimage that while big companies may pay for the
priviledge of having their program fixed (since Foundation doesn't come with
a maintenance license) the rest of the CG world doesn't dance to that tune.
