Wednesday render 2004-08-18 - By John Gaubatz
Back Hi Anthony, I haven't been at #truespace in a long time. I remember it was kind of fun to do the challenges way back when, maybe I'll stop by if I remember. The models look good, but I would be wary of using the dzigntist model. Kind of looks like that is a gear shifter. Why one would need a gear shifter on a commode is mystery to me. Your bobbins look good also. Maybe that is the way they look with a dim nightlight. I think I would have also attempted a outhouse. Anyway, nice job and look forward to seeing other challenges. John

In an attempt to inject a little life into the Galaxynet #truespace chat channel, we held a light-hearted modelling challenge. People were given one hour to model (texture, light) and render something in tS to a given theme. No prizes, just for fun and the theme could be interpreted however we liked.
The theme was "bathroom" and the entries can be seen at: http://www.anthonyware.com/bathroom/
We think Simes may well have used a pre-prepared model, though he assures us there is a bathroom inside there somewhere. Cesare was in work without access to tS at the time, but showed great initiative with an entry made entirely in MS Paint. My own entry (Bobbins) took too long to render due to a stupid choice of lighting and was still rendering at the end of the hour. Never mind, at least we got people doing something in tS!
If there is enough interest, I might try to make this a weekly thing. We'll see.
Anthony
