Hi,
for those who wonder what we have changed in this upgrade, here is a list:
Network Rendering:
We worked a lot to optimize the network communications and making the network rendering more robust. Actually I have to rewrite a big part of it. It is now a lot more stable and faster.
Additionnaly, you can now select manually the subnet on which your nodes are located in case the automatic detection does not work (in the preference). I also added a log capability that let you see which machines participated in the rendering.
Here is a list of bug fixed in network rendering:
- Network rendering does not start because it is looking on the wrong subnet - Carrara render node fails half way thru the network render. - Aborting network rendering cause application to freeze - Pausing/Restarting a network rendering cause application to freeze at the end of the rendering - SMP: lighting varies from frame to frame with network rendering
We also fixed a few additionnal issues:
- Sound scrubbing stops before the end of a sound clip - In this scene, changing the position of 2 items in the hierarchy also moves them in the scene !
Mac OS X: - Duplicate with symmetry: the shortcut keys conflict with the dock - Rendering scenes with reflection and transparency causes Carrara to quit unexpectedly.
