TrueBones for TrueSpace Motion Capture

TrueBones for TrueSpace Motion Capture

Thanks Rorr,

Right now I am not aware of anyway feasible to connect motion capture
directly into  TrueSpace. Even if there was a way I believe it would be a
very expensive and messy (code wise) proposition. Professional Motion
capture studio time is very  expensive (about $200.00 to $500.00 per second
of motion captured)and even then the motion is never guranteed to be 100%
usable in that state. It may have to  be fine tuned to remove bad frames and
create smoother motion that is ready to be used in other commercially
available applications. (not to mention rigging the  characters to recieve
the motion)

It is currently possible to import Poser generated motion capture (custom
skeleton sizes and animation) in .bvh format using the trueBones .TSX for
TrueSpace.

It is also possible to convert Kaydara motion format .FBX to usable .bvh for
importation into TrueSpace. However the way I accomplish this is a trade
secret and cannot be revealed at this time. There is also another motion
format called .CSM (character studio format.) that can be converted to
trueSpace usable .bvh. (again another trade secret) Turbosquid sells motion
capture for about  $100-$200.00 per motion capture in .BVH or .FBX format.

For begginers I would suggest the SuperBones motion series. SuperBones are
pre-imported motion captures in .cob format. These motions are already
quality  checked and use-ready in TrueSpace or GameSpace. In addition if you
rigg your character in TrueSpace using a SuperBones skeleton (unanimated)
you can then  simply copy and paste (swap and append) motions to your
characters without any  re-rigging. This saves tons of time and money (over
300 pre-checked, quality  motion captures .cobs for only $99.00) I believe
this is the best way to get started with motion capture in TrueSpace or
GameSpace. SuperBones comes with a huge assortment of motions like, walking,
running, fighting, dancing, sports, etc, and  much much more. also included
are about 20, pre-rigged characters to help you get  started.

I know of a lot of people using SuperBones motion capture in TrueSpace and
GameSpace right now. I invite you to try out the demos thats available on my
website at http://www.truebones.com Feel free to take a look around the
forum and join the mailing list or guestmap. Im looking forward to seeing
chrome dancing or fighting in TS. :o)

Thanks again and Cheers
Mr. Bones
