My brother wrote the same kind of plugin for me, but his allowed for
switching to the opposite side of the model with right mouse, and a
redraw of the screen so the widget didn't dissapear when you zoomed in
on an object. You might want to add something like that as well. I'd
put his up for download, but we weren't 100% sure it was free of bugs.
