Webster's Unabridged defines "doorway" as "1 : the passageway or opening
that a door closes : the entranceway into a building or room : portal
(qv)."

We have a door frame, No door.
So the empty space where the door is not, Would be called what ?

Door way,Arch way. These just don't sound right, Guess they would do but
do not seem right.
So any mind readers out there know the name I am trying to think of ?

Thanks
