That is an interesting question, because either you have such a popup, and some users (probably most) will want to be able to awitch that off as it calls for an extra mouse click over and over again. Then if you have one feature on/off, you will realize that there are many other situtions where you want to have a popup or similar thing to either be on or off. And if you have lots of those options there will be even more occasions when you just dont remember about it and can not understand why something tha used to work is not working any more. So it will generate some more posts to tsml. ;-)
Anyway, I happen to do this mistake ever so often, but have learned to check a second time before I lose information. Just as you have to remember to look both right and left before crossing a street.
