Yup! I just started fooling with it. There is a demo you can DL.
I want to use tS to make some models of decorative things for the house (tired of the 'dorm look' after 20+ yrs, want to replace some of the junk with some things that look pleasant), and then build them either from paper or perhaps lauan board or even balsa, then do a multilayered faux finish with acrylic paints, metal flakes and/or powders suspended either in clear acrylic Gel of perhaps urethane, maybe some metal leafing - i.e. mixed media. Don't have the $$ right now to buy art pottery or the like. Plus I enjoy making all sorts of things :) .
I kept thinking of using tS to make slices of models, then print the slices and cut a skeleton from lightweight wood or heavy cardboard and "skin" it with vellum, paper, maybe mtal, whatever. So I decided to also try Pepakura out and see how I liked it. Rather than the "skinned skeleton" method, it shows you where to make folds, and where to put tabs that you can glue, so the end result is "all of one piece" soto speak.
Only catch is that ti works best in your model has fewer than 500 polys...
