That's what I thought I did, which is why I'm confused.  Maybe I moved the
branches the wrong way.  Hmmm.  I try it again and see what happens.

The main problem is that, when XFrong makes the branches, it places the
base of the nes object smack in the center of the trunk object, not at the
surface of the trunk.

Oh!  <smacking self in head>  I just realized - maybe I shouldn't be moving
the branches at all!  Maybe I should Decompose (that's what I couldn't
think of - that's what the "orange stick man" does...), THEN immediately
savethe whole thing as a COB, then reload the COB, and *then* Join the
branches to the trunk - maybe the inside faces will disappear when they're
joined.  THat's what usually happens with normal objects.  DOH!  <Kris
feeling stupid!>

I'll have to try that....

Me, neither.  I just thought it'd be decent to do something productive and
help out by sending the guy some trees.  There is a lot of programming but
also logistics involved.  I don't have the left-brain capacity to do much
of anything with programming, and I don't have the patience for
logistics.  Not to mention the business part of it.

No, they're very knowledgeable, so that's not the problem.  I'm sure that
I'm just "not seeing the forest for the trees" =8-O !!  Sorry, couldn't
resist that one!  But it's likely that I missed some simple thing (prob. as
above, too much fiddling before joining because I got all hung up on
removing polys and didn't think to remember how tS typically joins objects).

But I need a break so I'm going to fool with some pendentives for a while -
*and* try to do some of the chores around the yard/house I'm supposed to do
<g>!!  Then I'll try that different approach to the trunk.  What you said
jogged my brains, thanks :) !, so that's something new to try.  If it works
I'll upload the working COB so maybe you or someone else can use it :) .
