Avi Projection images 2004-07-21 - By Hazmat
Back Thanks for the tip Tony, I'm sure it will come in handy for future projects. Fortunately for this project, I actually want a grainy .avi since it is supposed to mimic an old film projection. I have used Rad Video tools (Bink & Smacker) to output to jpegs, divided the files up into 3 random groups, and will do a batch desaturate and add noise (in Corel Photopaint). Each of the 3 groups will receive a slight variation on the noise so that it will mimic old film better. After I reassemble the frames, I will add some random lines and bubbles to it.
Just an update Anthony: I was able to convert my .avi file to another CODEC (DivX), which worked perfectly in the tS projector light. Thanks for all of your help!

Something I've recently done with 'grainy' video is to paint a plane with the AVI in tS At full screen (convert an ancient 320X240) and export full tga frames and then batch process (in PSP 8 in my case) the frames to get a better image. It sharpens it up nicely.
