Mechanical Spider Help 2004-07-07 - By Matt Geier
Back Hello all,
Been a while since I used TSML or been on #truespace, but anyhow I am still hopeing some of you have some ideas for me.
Spiders facinate me, I dont know why, but I like them. My wife on the other hand doesn't, anyway..... I want to create my own version of a spider, and I know that its going to be mechanical. I have some sketches done already, just a few pencilings of a leg and body, however, I cannot manage to get my TS 4.3 to work correctly and give me the result I am looking for.
I have been searching for tutorials, but it seems most everyone making CG spiders is using the "Round" body design. I want to use more of a Oval Rectangular, design with 45 Degree angles and points.
I keep using the spline tool (Wishing I had NURBS like in 6.6) LOL, creating the outline, and then doing a sweep on it. However, I am getting more of a Square Rectangular feel. How do I get the outline to sweep into a nice gradual point, so that it keeps my sides and takes them down along into a point...Not sure that makes sense, but thats the best way I can explain what Im doing.
Looking for some feedback ...
I want a more "rounded oval" look.
I have posted a link with my thus far results.
