Back No it is the metaphor of a mechanical plastic spinning disk which seems so dated in the age of online streaming music. Music does not need a mechanical substrate of a CD. I lose CD's all the time, I do not want to own them or even MP3 files on my own hard drive so iTune is not my choice either. I want someone else (like IBM) to own a big secure server with a million songs and have broadband access to that server for $20 a month.

The overlap is symetrically mirrored rather than sequential? :-)

Does not have a TrueSpace6.6SP2 CD spinning there.

Pretty well executed. We did something like that in iSpace many years ago. When we moved library panels to 3D, Beta testers got so angry that half of them left. We had to take it out in the end.
Another observation: Can someone tell me what is wrong with that cute picture of CD's spinning in 3D?

That would open up some neat possibilities for theme creators.
