I have always herd it referred to as Standard here in USA.
if I went to the tool store and told them I need sockets in the imperial
measurement system I have my doubts they would know what I was talking
about.
USA never had Kings.
For some reason I was thinking USA and England's measuring system varies
some but I am not sure.
I think I herd England's foot has 16 inches in it.anybody know if USA
and England's system is the same ?

USA
12 inches in a foot.
3 feet in a yard.

Wasnt it also called Standard and the US version is Imperial?
