Background and other Questions 2004-06-26 - By Bill Neumann
Back Tom,
I'm having the same problem as reported in Q1 (tS 6.6). I create a scene, assign a background image and then save the scene. I close tS, reopen it and load the scene. The background effects shader is still set to "image", but there is not image selected. When I render, the background just renders black. I have to reselect an image every time I reopen the scene. Apparently tS isn't saving the background image information when I save the scene. It does this regardless of whether the scene is static or animated, whether I save the scene via the scene library or manually in a different folder. The file size of the image doesn't seem to matter either.
I'm running tS 6.6 with Windows 2000 Pro, on an Athlon 1.2 Gig chip with 768 megs of RAM, and a VisionTek nVIDIA Xtasy 128 GeForce4 Ti 4600 video card.
Any ideas?

Can't reproduce the problem in Q1 - btw, some things to check, is the Image shader still the Background Effect Shader on loading your scene? What is the image being replaced by on reloading? Is this an animated scene or a static?

Hello, I am attempting using TS 6.6 Service Pack 2. I have set-up a scene and added a .jpg as a background. After saving or reopening a saved file and rendering, the background keeps disappearing or being removed. Is there a step I am missing? I am adding the background by right click on the Background effect shader - image, then double clicking the image then saving the file. If I render right when I add the .jpg everything is OK.
