Let the debates end 2004-06-20 - By Dave Angelini
Back Stuart,
Personally, I don't like integrated anything on my motherboard for reliability/repair reasons.
If I am going to build my own PC, then I want all separate modules. Should a separate sound card fail, then I can replace that sound card. But should an integrated sound card fail, then I have to replace the motherboard. A much more expensive proposition. Also, by the same logic, it makes upgrading those components more expensive also.
That is why I think you should probably put more money and thought into selecting a motherboard as you are more prone to just buy a new PC than replace/upgrade a motherboard.
Thanks, Dave Angelini
