Back I recently purchased Carrara and joined this group and wanted to introduce myself (Philip Shaddock). A very long time ago (1994) I wrote a book that was bundled with Imagine 3D software called "3D Modelling Lab". It was published by Waite Group Press in California. I have been a big user of 3D virtual worlds since then as my company did interactive 3D educational programs for museums around the world. (Unfortunately that means that I hired 3D artists and stopped modelling myself. Back to square one...). I sold the company, so I am basically in start up mode again, a one-man operation so far.
One of the programs I did was "Alien Encounters" a program that used Bryce, the old VistaPro and 3DS to create scientifically credible alien worlds. I am now doing a new version of the program. So here is my question. What I think I will do is model in Amapi and Carrara, do some additional modeling in Poser, and use Mover to import the finished scene and animation into Vue D'Esprit. The original Alien Encounters captures the visitor's face and morphs it to an alien's face. That's what makes Poser and its face morphing the key to this whole project. And I really like Vue D'Esprit's landscapes and the warmth of its renderer. Do you guys think this is a good strategy?
