No background image 2004-08-06 - By LAoct98

Hi,
I cannot seem to get the background image appear in vertex modeller.
I checked the "enable" box and loaded the image but nothing happens.
I tried also to change settings in preferences->General scene
settings ->interactive renderer but northing happens. Very
frustrating, please advice/help. Thanks
