Strange Behaviour with 3D-Boolean in Assembly Room 2004-08-04 - By kaju742k4
Back Hi...
I've played a little bit with the 3D-Boolean operations available in the assembly room but got strange resulting objects:
I've created a simple cube with x=15in, y=15in and z=15in. Then I duplicated it and set x=12in, y=12in and z=12in, so it is placed inside the first cube with an inner offset of 1.5in. Now, I've applied the 3D-Boolean with "Cube1 minus Cube2" to get a simple housewall. After that, I've created a simple vertex object shaped as a door, added a thickness and placed it in the "boolean'ed" cube. Now, I've applied a second 3D-Boolean operation with "NewCube minus VertexObject" to stamp the door inside my housewall and boom -> I get some very strange wireframes. If I now apply a simple checkboarder shader, it follows this "strange" wireframes and deforms.
So, what did I do wrong in applying 3D-Booleans in the Assembly- Room???
I've uploaded some pics of the results which can be found in the "Files"-section under "Kaju74".
