Jared,
Sorry it took so long to jump in on this one.

I took a look at the file and I think I know what is going on. To explain
it, I have to give a little background on the way Glows works. Anything Glows
is a standard light in Carrara, not any kind of GI trick. What that means is
for any point in the scene, it can only be illuminated by one ray for each
Anything Glows light. So when Carrara asks, "do you illuminate this point",
Anything Glows examines the geometry of it's base object and finds the closest
point from the base object's surface to the point being illuminated.

In your scene, you have a series of illuminating panels in a single object.
That splash of light you see on the floor is actually the highlight. As the
renderer moves down the floor, the transition from being closest to the far
panel to being closest to the near panel is sharp and immediate, thus the sharp
edge where the highlight stops. Since the ray is now coming from the closer
panel and heading away from the camera the angle is no longer right for
generating a highlight and the splash of light dissappears.

There are two ways to fix the problem. If you want to continue to use
Anything Glows, break apart the single panel object into multiple parts, name
them uniquely, and assign an AG light to each one. The other option is to head
down the GI path. Glows while still handy in some situations, has really been
eclipsed by the functionality in the GI renderer. The GI renderer often takes a
bit of experimentation to get the right lighting levels, but ultimately will
give you a nicer, more accurate final render.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,
Eric Winemiller

The Yahoo group recommended that I drop an email to you.

Here are the settings for an Anything Glows light in Carrara Studio 3.
