Rendering "Heat " 2004-07-06 - By James Edward Gray II

Another question.
I'm not sure what the technical term is for it, but I'm sure we've all seen
those waves of
heat rolling of the ground on a scorching hot day. My question is, how do I
render that?
Volumetric Cloud? Any tips or suggestions appreciated.
