Re: Transparent Label Problem - Solved 2004-06-30 - By ccoles_avengers
Back Hi Craig,
Don't know if you are working off of my Decal Shader tutorial from this month's edition of 3dXtract magazine or not, but if so, there is a way to do decals on glass. If you follow the tutorial, you simply need to switch to multichannel in both the Rect Layer and the Opacity Mask layer. Then, in the Rect Layer, apply the same matte you use in your opacity mask to your transparency channel (you also will probably have to use the "invert" button). Then your glass will display an opaque decal:

I guess I should have used a glass as an example in the tutorial, but I was trying to keep things really basic to start out with.
Craig, if you need me to send you the glass w/ opaque decal shader so you can view how it is set up, just let me know.
Cheers.
