I agree with you on some points.  CAD Style does seem to be quite
expensive for what it appears to offer (a mere import of more file
formats).  But, I don't have a problem with the price for Transposer,
through considering it does more than allow an import of still
images, but also imports animations. (However, I should also say that
I don't own Poser, Transposer, or CAD Style.)

As for the cost of plugins, I think Eovia gives us all the API on the
CD (or at least makes it available to us for no charge.)  So, anyone
can theorically make a pluggin to do however one wishes to, or to
even make one to import differen't file formats for us.

Programming is not easy (well, sometimes it is depending on the
project), if it was then there would be a great number of pluggins
out that would be on every "I love Carrara" webpage.  This is
something I would like to look into but due to time constrains I find
myself with little time to use Carrara itself, without even learning
it's API and furthering my knowledge of C++.

If I had the time to learn and practice with the API, I would love to
see lattice deformers in C.  It would be a good, simple way to
animate objects and would be an invaluable modelling tool as well.

However when looking at Eovia, other than transposer and CAD style,
which pluggins do they make?  The far less pricey (and more useful to
me) pluggins are created by 3rd party programmers who love and devote
themselves to the furtherment of C's abilities.

Someone mentioned a pluggin ring that can make and sell memberships
to get a pluggin for no additional charge than a yearly fee.  Did you
know that yahoo has another "group" just for pluggin developers of
Carrara?  Maybe this group would be a place to look for either
starting a membership club or even to get help making your own or
perhaps to see if people can help you out by providing already made a
pluggins to do the things that you want to do with C.
