Eovia exagerating their plug in prices!!!!

i know i know, programming costs a lot of money and a company is out
to make money and not lose money but i find that eovia's business
model is run by !!!!!!tS !!!!!!!!

what will people think when they see a plug in that they would like
to have but with a price tag that is close to half and more of the
base program ( carrara ) .

Case in hand daz as you may know as acquired bryce and is seling a
plug in to import daz figure and guess what the plug in does not
cost an arm and a leg.NOW THAT IS good business sense to me.

i think that might have been the plan all along from eovia. to make
a fairly reasonable base price for the program but to get features
that people will like and need in then people will have to fork thru
the nose to get them as plug ins.( cad style, transposer)

i don't like companies that go with that kind or practice in mind
and they should have charged more for the program and give a break
to people who bought their stuff to begin with as far as when they
wanna purchase plug ins.

carrara is a beautifull and powerfull piece of software but is has
only 2 things going for it.

ease of use and a superb render engine.

other than that people can go get lightwave and get tons of plugins
for cheap or free and get down on what they need to do, do you see
that at eovia  ...no!

i guess they don't want to have too many people make plug ins
because they would probably lose a buck or 2 from that situation.

I really hate companies that have the dollar sign in the head
flasing all the time.

Yeah we got great ideas and yeah we are able to put them out but
YEAH you are puting prices on your plug ins that not every joe will
want to spend on right away.

Carrara was suposed to be a solution for people who could not afford
the likes of lightwave and such but from the prices i am seeing the
plug ins are in the range of plug in prices for those programs.

and the way i see it be prepared to have a fit when cs 4 comes out
cause we may be in with a huge deception on the price of cs 4.

anyway that was my rant for the day. i know it ain't gonna change
jack but i am not gonna be the one losing money because i am so
greedy about what i sell...eovia is the one that will have to deal
with it. i may turn to some other software down the road...
