Back Hi, what Jason described here works very well, this is what I used to have fiine gravel on the floor fall of with distance. Make sure you use quatratic filtering too. The advantage of the projection is that you have visual feedback and easy control of the falloff by adjusting the ramp. (I used a circular ramp, 3dPlacement was moving in xz with the camera).
