DXF floor plans to Carrara

DXF floor plans to Carrara

I just received a bunch of flat floor plans in DXF format to incorporate into a
web site I'm
working on. I know I can make these into Illustrator files, and import in to
Carrara, where I
can extrude the walls, etc. These are flat, but don't DXF files also come in
full-blown 3D
versions? I'm wondering if I could brin a completed structure into Carrara, and
colorize/
texturize it easily? I want to ultimately make the files into Viewpoint files,
to bring in to
Atmosphere, for the web.

Is anyone familiar with Architectural floor plan software? Would such software
generate
this kind of DXF file? Or, alternately, would the software be likely to export
to a format
more appropriate for this purpose?

Thank you,

Dale
