Help with wood texture maps 2004-04-23 - By roccomcsocco
Back Hi everyone, I am brand new to Carrara and really like what I have seen so far but I am having some difficutly in producing convincing wood. I need to create interiors to elevator cabs and some of the materials they offer are all sorts of different woods. I am using texture maps because they have some wods such as birdseye maple that I can't seem to reproduce using the procedural blends. The problem that I have is when I repeat the texture map it creates a repeating patten down the wall of the cab. Is there something that I can do to stop this from happening and yet maintain the proper scale so the wood looks real. Better yet does anyone have or know of some procedural shaders that offer exotic woods?
