Back Hi Sachiko,
I've only played around with AGrows w/Transposer myself and got some fairly okay results (but unfortunately I can't post them right now because my computer crashed and I lost the file...will have to redo it later...), however, you shouldn't have to convert your Poser model to a vertex model at all. Actually, Eric W. has a great AGrows Hair for Transposer tutorial on his website which I have used to get myself started with simply using Poser figures and you should be able to adapt the same tutorial to your needs.
Go to: http://www.digitalcarversguild.com/tutorials/agroposer/
You should be able to find everything here to get you started with a much more simpler approach to doing AGrows hair.
When I get the time, I'll redo my file and post some of my hair pics, although they are probably simple compared to what others can do (I just got my Poser software the other week so I am really new at this, too).
Cheers.
