Hi Scott,

I'm not sure what you mean exactly by consumer oriented. If you mean
a service that will do a one time STL print for you, from your data,
then some of the Z Corp authorized dealers do that sort of thing. Most
of them own their own machines as well as sell them, so they offer the
STL printing services. Of course they hope to sell you a machine, but
they also offer the printing service. I'm in Seattle, and the local
dealer has sent me information and pricing for doing prototypes. Their
other dealers probably offer the same.

The Z Corp website has a short list of service bureaus, perhaps one
of them could do your project:

By now it must sound like I own Z Corp stock.  :O)  Rest assured, I
don't. I've been interested in STL since the conversion pack came out,
and years ago I was a jeweler, so the entire casting process is
interesting to me. I just thought it was great of Z Corp to offer a free
print and wanted to pass along the information I have.

Good luck in finding a printing service close to you. Once you do,
if you find the time, and don't mind, please post some images of the
finished product.

Best Wishes,
Bill Neumann

Wow, that is extremely cool. But I have not been able to find a simple
service that would print something like this for a fee, for example, to
make
a custom toy for my kid. There are a number of service bureaus, but I
haven’t found anything that is consumer oriented.

Anybody know of such a service?
