Well, not all of these polls were what I would call well designed. This is more than a yes/no question and the turnout of the polls tends to be low. If there are 3000 people in this group and 100 says YES to evovia board and 5 say NO, does that mean they represent the 3000 or is it really 100 YES and 2900 NO? Same goes for the Move from Yahoo, YES or NO? I know with those choices, I would vote no because the yes vote tends to want to move the site to a new board that does not have the same capabilities, ie email.

For starters, it is more than just "a few oldtimers who are set in their ways" who use the email system. Since you are new here, you probably don't realize that BEFORE their was a web board system, hell, before there were web boards, there was a Carrara list. (Actually it was Ray Dream back then, but many of the same people are around). Until the list was moved to yahoo, there was no web board capabilities at all. Some of the members use the web board, but others only use the email capabilites. And this is NOT because we are "set in our ways", it is entirely based on capabilites and functionality. With an email system, I get each message personally delievered to me. I can set those messages in their own folder and read them at my will, either online or offline. I can also reply to them at will, so messages sit around for days before I get a chance to reply. (Lucky of you, I can reply to this one immediatly :). Not only do I get a chance to read and reply at will, I can also store the messages I want into my own personal archive system for review at a later date. I have messages from Ray Dream that still apply to Carrara 3 that I review when needed. With all that in mind, when someone asks me if I want to move to a new system that takes away the features and capabilites that I use daily and replaces them with new features and capabilities that I never use, then you will not be suprised when my answer is a resounding no.
