For those curious about open source 3D, K3D has apprently make great
improvments in both features (subdivision modeling) and stability (I
tested the last stable windows and Linux versions) these last months.
Be aware : the interface is just plainly counter-intuitive.
It is also an intensively scriptable - and script-oriented app.
