I would agree with the author on some of his negative points, such as
about the plant editor and the scene wizard (I also agree with his
positive comment about the "slew of new and improved
features...unprecedented at this price").

But it is clear that he writes with a rigid expectation of how 3D
software interfaces should work (although maybe it is a valid
consideration regarding attracting users of other 3D software to
Carrara).  He has not used Carrara 3 long enough to understand the
advantages of its interface.  I'm not sure how he can be infuriated
by the working box.  If he doesn't like the extra sides, he could
have just turned them off.  He probably didn't know that.

As for the separate rooms, my question to him would be, "What do you
feel you are losing?"  When I first got Carrara, I was initially
uncomfortable with the room concept.  But then I realized that I
wasn't losing anything and I was gaining a cleaner, larger, less
cluttered workspace.  It's not as confusing or inefficient as he
makes it out to be.

The author also made a mistake when he said that motion blur had been
improved.  Motion blur hasn't changed since the days of Ray Dream
Studio.  It's still below standard for animation in my opinion.

I feel that the reviewer should have asked questions of experienced
users of the product.  It would correct misconceptions.  And while it
might not change his opinion, it would at least allow him to hear
another opinion besides his own.
