1. It depends of your final use (only computer vision ? Video vision ? )
Anyway it's always better to check NONE (uncompressed) in AVI or QT render
options so with the new lossless editing capabilities of today you preserve
max quality of your animation-render in the editing & compositing process.
Editing for video needs to render with upper or lower field enabled in the
Carrara render tray. Please check well before which field your video card
support ! If not sure make a test.

2. OK, nobody is perfect !

3. Never known or used these softwares, sorry!

4. Which kind of help do you need ?
