I just checked my CDs for the Mac version and the
presets are located within the Installer for Carrara.
On Mac, if you use the "Easy Installation," they are
automatcially installed.

If that was not the case when you installed them,
you can fire up the installer again and just install
the "Presets" and "More Presets."

But maybe they are all in your computer already.
If you are on Mac, they are located in the Shaders
folder inside the Presets folder inside the Carrara 3
folder. Look for a folder titled, "Basic Metals."

The way you add a folder of shaders to make them
available to as follows:
1. Go into the Texture Room
2. Open the Browser (Tray on left)
3. Click on the first button in the second row at the
top. If you hover over it, it says "Browser: Shaders"
4. When you click on that, you will see the shaders
that are currently availalbe, if any.
5. Go to the small page icon near the top right and
click on it and release on "Add folder..."
6. Then you have to find the "Basic Metals" folder
on your hard drive and select it. All of the metals
will then be available for you.
