Well, Animation Master is definitely the winner when it comes to "character
animation" and
its animation tools and features.  AM is pretty much spline based.  

It depends on what you want to accomplish.  They both have their merrits.

This is why I will like to see improvements in Carrara 4, when it comes to
animation.  
C4 could defenitely be a contender if this happens.
