But for how long will Eovia continue to support Poser? I know
the 'new' plugin is not even out yet, but Curious Labs & Poser have
been bought by e-frontier, a Japanese software developer. They
produce a 3D app called Shade, that has a solid user base in Japan
and plan to start intergrating aspects from each program.
The plugin was probably in development long before e-frontier came
into the picture. Eovia will still ship the pluging for the current
Poser (5) otherwise it would be a waste of the devlopment time/money.
But what of future versions. It would not make sense for Eovia to
drop their own development of Bones, they may not have access for
later versions of Poser. Plus why would they want to continue to be
reliant on another companies application for solid character
animation support.
With Shade and Carrara viaing for the same slice of the 3D market, I
doubt that e-frontier would continue to offer cross application
support to other vendors. By Poser 6 (or 7) you more than likely
will not have any option beyond brining Poser files into Shade.
