Boolean Dice

Boolean Dice

So, I gave up on the die rolling thing...

Now I have problems with the dice.  I built them using texture maps
and so I don't get good WHITE dice unless the light is DIRECTLY
pointing at the face.  Then the dots glare really badly.

So, I figured I should make actually model the dots on the dice.
Then I can control texture and shine of all of the parts
individually.

So, I have a Vetex object die and I created Primitive spheres for
each of the dots.  I did them as prims because I could precisely
control the layout of the spheres.

Now the problem.  How do I subtract the primitive dots from the
Vertex object?  It only seems that you can create Vertex meshes in
the Vetex modeler all in the same object and do boolean operations.
Is this true?  If so, then Carrara's modeler is even worse than I
already thought it was.

I may have to export this and do it all in a different proggy.

Any thoughts?
